Carbon offsets: is defined as "a reduction in Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions – or an increase in carbon storage (e.g., through land restoration or the planting of trees) – that is used to compensate for emissions that occur elsewhere" by The Carbon Offset Research and Education program.
Instead of striving to commit to the target of Net zero by reducing emissions, many enterprises aim to offset their emissions output with environmental projects and paying for carbon credits. From this disruption in climate action, between NZ and CO, which concept do you personally find yourself more aligned with and why? What are your opinions on this?
Do you think with the popularization of Net Zero, will sources of energy change? In which ways?
